Of Evaluation Papers, Examinations, and Therapy Plans

Hello, Tumblr!

Well, I’m in the middle of paper writing right now… But I just missed blogging and heck, my brain cells are already dying.

Current status: Joanna’s Neurons = 0%

But… Here is something I asked Jaymee to draw for me!

In case you’re wondering, I seriously look like that right now… Except that I’m in my PJs and not in my white uniform.

These past days are really taking a toll on me — papers, exams, practicals, more papers — and I still need to endure these for two more weeks (including this week!). Don’t ask me how I even spared time to write this entry, I just… Nevermind.

I actually feel ashamed whenever I recall myself in the past months or year saying that I’m busy. I just realized that my busyness back doesn’t even compare an inch to how things are now. That wasn’t busy. This is busy.

(And I believe there will come a day that I will feel even more ashamed for saying that this is busy.)

I’ll be back as soon as this semester ends! There are still a lot of drafts and blog entries on their way to being published! Hee.

I’ll end this here and dash off to continue making my patient’s Home Program!

Yours ‘til the dash boards,

Joanna.

  • Friend: Why do you like KPOP so much anyway? I mean, you can't even understand most of the lyrics and their autotuned songs-
  • Me: Don't start that again.
  • Friend: But-
  • Me: Have you ever experienced waking up every morning just to deliver milk in order to not burden your parents with the training expenses?
  • Friend: Well, no, but-
  • Me: Did you drop out of high school to pursue your dream even if you're uncertain that you'll make it big?
  • Me: Have you tried dancing and singing onstage with your heels on?
  • Me: Did you experience hearing so much criticism you end up breaking down but you have to put on a smile for the sake of others?
  • Me: Have you tried getting no more than two hours of sleep before tackling a new day all over again?
  • Me: Did you experience having a hater that can go as far as putting glue in your drink, causing you to be hospitalized? And at the end, you'll forgive her because she's the same age as your sibling?
  • Friend:
  • Me: Have you tried auditioning countless of times before finally getting accepted?
  • Me: Can you stay single for the sake of your supporters?
  • Me: Can you sing and dance--live--at the same time?
  • Me: Can you live up to the image a company has given you?
  • Me: Can you bear living away from your family and friends, not being able to communicate with them for a long time because of your work?
  • Friend: Well, when we grow up that's what we'll do anyway so-
  • Me: At the age of fifteen, sixteen, seventeen or maybe even eighteen?
  • Friend:
  • Me:
  • Me: There's more to KPOP than it seems. If you see them without the spotlight shining down on them, then you'll understand.

Reblogging this because I miss Ballet so much.

Taeyeon - I Love You (Athena OST) Cover

I was bored procrastinating, so I did an amateur cover of Taeyeon’s I love You.

I’ve been singing this for months now, and I really wanna do a cover, but I don’t have good equipment to produce a legit one.

Please bear with my voice, it isn’t that warmed up, ‘coz I can’t sing during the weekdays with full force (I can just hum in our dorm room), and I only did this in one take. XD Plus, you can hear a few background noises. I’m actually surprised that the noise from vehicles outside my window are filtered by a mere headset and GarageBand. XD

I look forward to producing good-quality covers someday. :)

If ever someone will listen to this, thank you! ^^

Yours ‘til the head sets,

Joanna.

*runs off to study for their deadly Aphasia exam*

PS: I believe that if I won’t delete this in the next few days, I will look back to this and be so embarrassed about it. XD

The Yet-To-Be-Named-Adventures First Stop: Subspace Coffee House

Subspace Coffee House: An out of this world experience

So, you see.. Being a Kpop fan can do wonders.

I admit, the day I knew about the YongSeo Couple and SHINee, my life has changed — both in a good and bad way. Hours on Facebook has been replaced with hours on YouTube, trying to watch every video of my favorite group, and hours of stalking my crush has been taken over by stalking my ‘bias’. Same goes for my ever dearest fangirling companion, Jaymee.

Fangirling and having nothing else better to do has led Jaymee into discovering a very interesting coffee house with a unique name and a unique theme. What better hangout would there be for a Kpop Fan than a Kpop-inspired spot?

So last November 30, 2011 (I know, I know. This blog is too late), Jaymee and I set off for a little adventure to nowhere. Yup, except for the address, the knowledge that it’s a few blocks away from Robinson’s Galleria, and what bus we need to take, we had no idea where Subspace is.

We took a bus from Morayta to Robinson’s Galleria and decided to look for the coffee house by foot and by the answers of people around the area. We got around a few blocks until Jaymee finally spotted that familiar glass windows we’ve seen on pictures.

We looked around the moment we entered, and was mesmerized by the unique interior and relaxing ambience of the cafe.

Interior at the cafe entrance

You would see different clips from magazines and newspapers that Subspace was featured in, along with some Kpop posters and images.

Paper Cranes! 4 down, 996 more to go! ;)

Do you see that awesome ceiling design?

Yes, peeps! Those are chairs! ^^

Remember when we were kids, and doodling on the walls and different parts of the house was fun, yet we were scolded by our moms? Heee. Well in Subspace, doodling isn’t illegal!

I just realized we didn’t get to take photos of the other side of the cafe. Hehe. Sorry!

This is where we sat. :) See that gate-like structure behind me? That becomes a movie screen during the night. Pure awezum sauce!

We arrived at the place half past three in the afternoon mainly due to my fault (Sorry, Jaymee!) and we haven’t grabbed anything for lunch yet, so we were itching to order.

A picture of Jaymee I stole while she was ordering. Heh.

Ooohhh. Tastyyy! :>

All the baked goodness! Yes, reader! I’m tempting you! :>

The price list! Haha.

Everything looks scrumptious and appetizing, but in the end, I settled for Lasagna and a Subspace Float, while Jaymee got herself the famous Subspace specialty, Purple Sweet Potato Latte, and a slice of Marshmallow Cake.

Marshmallow Cake

Purple Sweet Potato Latte with Marshmallow Cake

I swear I felt my tongue tingle with joy when it tasted both the goodness of the coffee house’s Lasagna and Marshmallow Cake. As for the Subspace Float, which consists of (as far as I can remember) cola, a bit of coffee, caramel, and topped off with Vanilla Ice Cream, I can totally come back and drink it over and over without even getting tired of it. Whenever I think of that Float, it makes me crave for it. ;___; And honestly, I’m not a fan of Sweet Potatoes (Yes, people. I didn’t get why Seohyun loves Gogumas so much), but the Purple Sweet Potato Latte passed my picky taste buds, although coffee fans wouldn’t really appreciate it because there wasn’t that strong bitter taste most people love about coffee. If only Subspace was a walk away from my dorm, I would absolutely eat all their food everyday and not mind even if I get fat.

We had a mini photoshoot there and got a few awesome pictures! I really feel sorry at times because if only I was prettier, Jaymee’s shots would look much more awesome and better. Haha. But please bear seeing my face even for a bit!

I look quite convincing, don’t I?

I have nerdy tendencies. Oh gosh.

A crowd favorite. Haha.

This was actually a candid shot.

So we stayed there for a few hours and found some interesting stuff.

It was really interesting because through the way I see things, Subspace likes us to travel through the past and into the future through mixing different futuristic and antique stuff in the cafe.

It’s Evuhhh~ Keke. I have always loved Wall-E since the first time I saw the movie. I swear I was this close to asking if I can take home stuff from the coffee house because everything is so cute!

They sell merchandise of different stuff, too! Including albums of different Kpop groups, straight from Korea! :) How do I know they’re straight from Korea? Some of the albums aren’t released in the Ph. ;)

You people have to guess what this is! :)) Seriously, when we saw this, Jaymee and I cracked up. Hahaha.

I got hungry again, so I ordered Miho’s favorite Bubbly Water (Chilsung Cider) and a Banana Espresso Cake (I really hope I remember the name correctly!).

I wasn’t fond of the Banana Espresso Cake, maybe because I was used to my mom’s baked banana goods that were fluffy and very soft, ‘coz this one has hardened a bit already. It was still an okay for me, though.

It ached our heart, but we still had to find our way home, so we left after spending a good amount of time there. (Thanks to all the staff who let us have a good time!)

I promise that I’ll be back soon, especially now that Subspace has recently tweaked and reinvented their place!

I’ll leave you guys with a fail self-timer photo Jaymee and I took. Haha.

Please excuse our awkward faces.

Can’t wait for more out of this world goodness from Subspace Coffee House!

Yours ‘til the K pops,

Joanna.
